Delete your Kopare account
You can delete your Kopare account at any time, from the app or by asking us.
Delete it in the app
Android
- Open Kopare and tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account, then Delete.
- Confirm with your Google account.
iPhone
- Open Kopare and tap Settings. (Parents find it under More.)
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, then Delete.
- Confirm with your Apple account.
Deletion starts right away and can't be undone.
Delete it without the app
If you no longer have the app, contact us through the support chat at kopare.app/support (no app or sign-in needed) and say you want your Kopare account deleted. You can also email koparellc@gmail.com.
Tell us the name on your account and the email address you signed in with (for Google or Apple sign-in, the email of that account). We'll check that the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything, and we'll complete the deletion and reply within 30 days.
What's deleted
- Your sign-in account, including the email address it holds.
- Your profile: your name, profile photo and notification tokens.
- Your personal ("just for me") expenses and their receipt photos. If you delete your account in the iPhone app, no one can see them anymore, but they aren't erased automatically; ask us (above) and we'll erase them.
- Your membership in every family calendar. You're removed from each one.
What's kept, and why
- What you shared with a family calendar stays with its other members: events, messages, shared expenses and payments, day notes, and their photos. They're part of a shared record the other parent relies on. Your name may still appear on things you added.
- If you own a family calendar, it passes to the other parent.
- If you're the only parent on a family calendar, the calendar isn't deleted automatically. Ask us (above) and we'll delete it and everything in it.
- Usage statistics (analytics) aren't linked to your name or email. Google Analytics keeps them for up to 14 months; a copy we keep for studying how the app is used isn't deleted automatically. See our Privacy Policy, section 6.
Kids' accounts
A kid's account is removed by a parent, not by the kid, and removing it deletes it. In the iPhone app, a parent goes to Settings > Child Accounts, touches and holds the kid's name, and taps Remove child. A parent who uses only Android can ask us (above).
Leaving a family calendar without deleting your account
In Settings, tap Leave calendar. You keep your account; your shared history stays with the calendar. (Not available to the calendar's owner.)
